The renewable energy Feed-in Tariffs (FiT) for renewable electricity generation has been available for several years. If you install a Solar PV, Hydro or Wind system of up to 5MW capacity you can still claim the FiT for every kWh of electricity generated regardless of use. Rates have been dropping dramatically since the beginning of 2016, and will continue to drop as the monthly and quarterly installation caps are breached.
If you want to know how to benefit from this scheme then contact us now we can advice you on the most appropriate scheme and help you build a business case. For renewable heat projects the Renewable Heat Incentive is available for commercial projects. Other sources of funding in the form of grants and other financial support are sometimes available. Larger projects have been funded using Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs), although this support has mostly been removed .
OFGEM publishes quarterly reports on the Feed-in Tariffs, they have received more than 900,000 registrations since the scheme began operation. You can read the full reports here
The introduction of the Feed-in Tariffs created a huge interest from land owners, developers and investors. We are busy advising those involved in the various aspects of projects. if you would like to benefit from our experience please contact us.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy
If you are one of the 5,000+ organisations consuming more than 6,000 MWh/year of electricity we can help you reduce your carbon footprint. Local generation of electricity using renewable sources is one action that can reduce your Carbon footprint, avoid the purchase of costly Carbon credits and reduce your energy bills. As of December 2015 you may also have to participate in the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) which implements mandatory energy efficiency reporting.
If you are constructing a new building or refurbishing an existing one you will have to comply with current building regulations including Part-L which dictates energy efficiency. Achieving Part-L compliance is typically done using a combination of energy efficiency measures and local on-site generation.
Operation And Maintenance
With the removal or reduction of most forms of government support for renewable energy schemes, owners and operators are increasingly looking for ways to maximum the energy output of their systems whilst keeping operation and maintenance costs to a minimum.
RS Renewables are a fully approved (by the CAA) aerial survey company with a level one PCN qualified thermographer. RS Renewables are able to undertake ground and airborne thermographic surveys of renewable energy installations to identify hot spots which may indicate problems.
How Can we Help You?
Incorporating renewable energy into your project can sometimes be a daunting task. With legislation rolled into planning policy mandating the use of CO2 saving solutions and a myriad of grants and potential financial support it can a significant task just navigating through the various options.
Which technology is best? Perhaps more than one. Selecting the right technology for the site is crucial to ensure the success of the project.
Calculating the pay-back period of a renewable energy project can be complex with many factors to be taken into consideration including the being dependent on the UK weather.
Once your project is off the drawing board sourcing and implementation can begin with selecting the right suppliers and ensuring they deliver on time and to budget.
